Can globalization explain the increasing inequalities in income across and within countries? Welcome to a seminar with Harvardprofessor Elhanan Helpman – one of the world’s leading researcher of international trade.

In his upcoming book, Elhanan Helpman, Professor of International Trade at Harvard University, gives an overview of the research on the relationship between globalization and inequality.

Helpman is one of the world’s most well-renowned economists. He has contributed with new theories in international trade, political economy and economic growth. His research has been awarded multiple times.

The seminar will be moderated by Harry Flam, Professor Emeritus of International Economics and Chairman of the Swedish Fiscal Policy Council.

IIES/SNS International Policy Talks is a collaboration between the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES) at Stockholm University and SNS with the mission to bring insights from leading international economists to the Swedish policy debate.

The seminar will be held in English.

Elhanan Helpman is the Galen L. Stone Professor of International Trade at Harvard University, and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research.
Harry Flam, Professor Emeritus of International Economics at the Institute for International Economics Studies (IIES) at Stockholm University, and Chairman of the Swedish Fiscal Policy Council.

Registration and fee

The number of seats is limited. The seminar is open to SNS members*, the press and specially invited. The fee is SEK 295 + VAT. An invoice will be sent after the meeting. Cancellation after March 21 or no-show will be charged.
