Årets Tylösandskonferens handlar om ekonomisk politik i en värld i förändring, inte minst i ljuset av covid-19-pandemin som har tvingat beslutsfattare världen över att ifrågasätta rådande sanningar och vidta åtgärder som tidigare inte ansetts möjliga.

Bland andra medverkar de prisbelönta ekonomerna Oliver Blanchard, Stefanie Stantcheva och Nicholas Bloom. Blanchard är en av världens mest citerade ekonomer, hans forskning fokuserar bland annat på finans- och penningpolitik, samt finansiella globala kriser inklusive coronakrisen. Han var chefsekonom på IMF under åren 2008–2015. Blooms forskning fokuserar på företags ledarskap och hur företag hanterar osäkerhet. Han har tidigare arbetat på UK Treasury och McKinsey & Co. Stantcheva forskar om  skatte- och transfereringssystem, ojämlikhet samt företags och individers produktivitet. Hon leder the Social Economics Lab vid Harvard University.  År 2019 utsågs hon till Best Young French Economist.

Olivier Blanchard

Olivier Blanchard is a French economist and Fred Bergsten Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute and Robert Solow Professor of Economics Emeritus at MIT. His research interests are in macroeconomics, including a wide set of issues that range from the role of monetary and fiscal policy to the global financial crisis and the Covid crisis.

He was the Chief Economist at the International Monetary Fund, IMF, 2008–2015 and he served as the President of the American Economic Association 2018. He is one of the most cited economists in the world.

Nicholas Bloom

Nicholas Bloom is Professor of Economics at Stanford University, and a co-Director of the Productivity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). His research focuses on management practices and uncertainty.

He was the recipient of the Frisch Medal in 2010 for his work on understanding the impacts of large uncertainty shocks. Bloom previously worked at the UK Treasury and McKinsey & Co.

Stefanie Stantcheva

Stefanie Stantcheva is Professor of Economics at Harvard University, co-editor of the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and a member of the French Council of Economic Analysis. Her research is in public finance, with a focus on tax and transfer systems, inequality, and the productivity of firms and individuals.

She is the founder and director of the Social Economics Lab at Harvard that studies how people form their understanding, perceptions, and views of public policies. Stantcheva is the recipient of the 2020 Elaine Bennett Research Prize and was named Best Young French Economist 2019.

Lars Heikensten

Lars Heikensten is the Chairman of the Swedish Fiscal Policy Council. He holds a PhD in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and was previously the executive director of the Nobel Foundation. Heikensten was the deputy governor of Swedish Central Bank, Riksbanken, between 1995 and 2003, the governor of Riksbanken between 2003 and 2006 and the Swedish member of the European Court of Auditors between 2006 and 2011.

Jan-Olof Jacke

Jan-Olof Jacke is CEO of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and a member of boards of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, the Swedish Exhibition, ICC Sweden Alecta and IFN. Jacke was the CEO of AstraZeneca AB between 2013 and 2018.


Kristin Magnusson Bernard

Kristin Magnusson Bernard is CEO of Första AP-fonden (AP1). She holds a PhD in Economics from Stockholm School of Economics and is a Board Member of Vasakronan AB and Swedish House of Finance (SHoF). Magnusson Bernard previously worked as Country Senior Executive in Nordea Markets Sweden and Head of Macroeconomic Research in Nordea. She has also held senior positions at the European Central Bank (ECB) and at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Katrine Marçal

Katrine Marçal is a Swedish journalist, experienced moderator and lecturer based in England. Katrine works for the Swedish daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter and is the author of books like Who Cooked Adam Smith’s Dinner? which was named one the greatest books of the year by The Guardian in 2015. Her second book Mother Of Invention: How Good Ideas Get Ignored In An Economy Built For Men became a bestseller in Sweden in 2020.

In her role as a financial journalist, she has interviewed many of the world’s leading economic thinkers, politicians, and business leaders. Some of her interviews have been viewed more than a million times on YouTube.
