Making Better Use of Research 2026: Evidence-Based Industrial Policy

Sweden spends billions on business support, innovation programmes and other industrial policy measures. But do we really know what works?  

SNS invites you to a morning on evidence-based industrial policy. The keynote speaker is Chiara Criscuolo of the OECD, one of the world’s leading researchers in productivity, business dynamics and policy evaluation. Drawing on research, the conference will discuss which industrial policy measures work, where the knowledge gaps lie and what obstacles stand in the way of systematic evaluation. The Directors-General of the Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis (Tillväxtanalys) and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket) will also share their perspectives on the conditions for evaluation and learning in Swedish industrial policy.
