Redirecting the financial market in a more sustainable direction

Last year, the high-level group presented proposals for measures to promote the allocation of capital to sustainable assets. The aim is for the financial market to contribute to the global sustainability goals and the Paris Agreement. On the basis of the group's proposal, the European Commission has recently adopted an action plan for sustainable financing. Christian Thimann, special adviser to the European Commission and former chairman of the commission's high-level group, tells how far the work has come and what remains.
