What are the macroeconomic effects of carbon pricing?

Måndag 9 mars 2026 16:00–17:00

SNS, Jakobsbergsgatan 18, Stockholm.  Registration from 15:45. The seminar will be followed by a mingle to 17:45.

Carbon pricing is used to reduce carbon emissions and incentivize the use of climate-friendly technologies. While the policy can be an effective tool to support the green transition, it may also affect households and economies in unequal ways.

Welcome to a seminar where carbon pricing and its implications on macroeconomy will be discussed together with leading experts.

The seminar is held in English and is part of the IIES/SNS International Policy Talks, a collaboration between SNS and the Institute for International Economics (IIES) at Stockholm University. The seminar series aims to create a forum where internationally renowned economists discuss the latest research with leading experts and decision-makers.

Participants

Diego Känzig, Assistant Professor of Economics, Northwestern University.

More speakers will be added.

The seminar is moderated by John Hassler, Professor of Economics at the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES).
