Friday 25 March 2022, 14:00–15:00

COVID-19 has shown disruptions in global supply chains and led to shortages of certain critical products in Europe. Kerstin Jorna, Directorate-General at the European Commission, presents the EU strategy to address these challenges. Comments from Professor Emeritus Harry Flam and Jan-Olof Jacke, Director General at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.

The European industrial strategy aims to support the transition to a green and digital economy, make EU industry more competitive globally, and enhance Europe’s autonomy.

As one of several measures the Commission is preparing the launch of The Alliance on processors and semiconductor technologies, semiconductors being one of six strategic areas where the EU is dependent on foreign sources.
