Business The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights – shaping legal developments and market expectations The UN Guiding Principles (UNGPs) on Business and Human Rights were unanimously endorsed in 2011. It was the first time the UN had issued official guidance to states and firms on their respective duties and responsibilities in relation to business and human rights and the principles were placed into the domain of “soft law”.
