time and place
Monday 13 October 2025, 12:00–13:00
SNS, Jakobsbergsgatan 18, Stockholm. Lunch will be served from 11:30.
Informed voters are essential for a well-functioning democracy. If voters lack access to reliable information, it can hinder political accountability and lead to divisions between voter groups.
What role does the availability of information play in shaping public opinion? Which measures are most effective in countering misinformation and ensuring a strong supply of trustworthy news? These questions will be explored in a seminar presenting research findings from the United States, with commentary from Swedish media and journalism representatives.
The seminar is part of IIES/SNS International Policy Talks, a collaboration between the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES) at Stockholm University and SNS. The series aims to bring insights from leading international economists to the Swedish policy debate.
The seminar is held in English.
