The Political Economy of the Food Sector. The Case of Sweden 3,3 MB PDF

During more than half a century the Swedish agricultural and food production sectors have worked under conditions influenced by political decisions and administrative regulations, replacing free market solutions. An impenetrable system (network) of regulations has developed in a close relation between politicians, public authorities, interest organizations and private corporations.

In the book this process is described in a social organizational perspective. A total deregulation of the food sector is discussed as an alternative to further administrative regulations.
