The Robot Revolution: How America is preparing for the new economy

Tid och plats

Torsdag 18 maj 2017, 16:00–17:00
SNS, Jakobsbergsgatan 18, Stockholm

What are the jobs of the future? How many will there be? And who will have them? The Embassy of the United States of America in Stockholm, together with SNS, welcomes you to a discussion with Martin Ford, author of the Financial Times/McKinsey Business Book of the Year in 2015, about the impact of accelerating technology on our economic prospects.

Martin Ford argues that this next industrial revolution will not be like the last one. AI and automation seem to be outpacing humans in a range of sectors. Can accelerating technology disrupt our entire economic system? Will basic, guaranteed income be implemented? How will education reflect our changing society?

Martin Ford is a futurist and the author of The New York Times Bestselling book Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future that won the Financial Times/McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award in 2015. Ford is a leading expert on the robot revolution, artificial intelligence, job automation, and the impact of accelerating technology on workplaces, the economy and society. Ford has also written the book The Lights in the Tunnel: Automation, Accelerating Technology and the Economy of the Future.
